In an effort to assist residents in protecting themselves and their property, the Attleboro Police Department is encouraging residents and visitors to Attleboro to “Lock It, Hide It & Keep It”.  The Attleboro Police Department relies on a strong partnership with the citizens of Attleboro.

A car thief can access your car in less than 30 seconds and steal your belongings.  Public service notice cards have been distributed on car windshields by the evening shift patrol officers throughout the city with ideas on how to better protect your belongings.

RESIDENTS CAN REDUCE THE RISK by:

Removing the keys,

Rolling up car windows,

Removing valuables (whenever possible),

Ensuring valuables are not visible from the outside,

Utilizing a closed or locked garage,

Using exterior lighting or motion sensor lights,

Parking in a well lighted area whenever possible,

Avoiding parking in hidden or obscure areas,

And most importantly, LOCKING YOUR DOORS!

RESIDENTS WHO SEE SOMETHING, SHOULD SAY SOMETHING

Report any person(s) in your area who appear suspicious to you, especially people walking through your neighborhood during the lat night or early morning hours.  Residents should call 508-222-1212 to report suspicious activity or Dial 911

Also, police asked that residents report any unauthorized entry into your car regardless of anything being taken.  This helps police track the perpetrators movements.
