The City of Attleboro seeks a public safety dispatcher to receive, transmit and disseminate both routine and emergency communications utilizing the telephone, radio and B-911 systems. Also uses various law enforcement data bases for information.
Position requires knowledge of City locations and high school graduation. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Must be able to operate computer, telephone and other communications equipment. Must be able to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.
A criminal records background check will be performed on all applicants. Shift work required.
Prior emergency dispatching experience and/or certification as an E-911 telecommunicator preferred. Certification demonstrating successful completion of an American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or other cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and certification program. Successful completion of the Massachusetts State 911 Department New Hire NG 911 training class. Successful completion of the Massachusetts State 911 Department APCO PST training class.
